Nino Salvaggio is currently looking for an Assistant Dairy Manager for our Bloomfield location.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with managing dairy department.
- Price, stock, and rotate all dairy and frozen products.
- Assist with the interviewing, hiring, training and evaluation of a productive team of associates through supervision, work delegation and appropriate reward and discipline.
- Become familiar all products carried in the department including being fully knowledgeable in the differences between the many varieties and types of dairy products.
- Assist with ordering and maintaining inventory control to ensure freshness and product quality for maximum sales and return-on-investment.
- Follow approved procedures for ordering, receiving product, price marking, dating and restocking cases to ensure quality protection, public image, accuracy and product rotation.
- Check and verify dairy department merchandise received to ensure that all items listed on vendor invoices are delivered and meet quality standards.
- Ensure that all products carried in the department meet Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace expiration date standards.
- Maintain good communications in the store and throughout the organization.
- Greet customers and provide them with prompt and courteous service and/or assistance.
- Ensure favorable department image to customers by maintaining a clean, attractive and friendly department.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED, required.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Previous dairy/grocery experience, required.
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for 8 or more hour periods.
- Must be able to frequently bend, lift and/or move 50 pounds.
- Must be able to occasionally bend, lift and/or move 75 pounds (with assistance).
- Ability to work in cold temperatures for extended periods of time.
